Why is my image flipped after uploading it to MV?
Cameras lenses have a fixed orientation that doesn't change when you tilt your camera. However, pics taken with a camera or phone are saved with some extra data from your device that tells your device how to display it.
However, when you upload a photo to MV, we only receive the original image, not the extra data. This is the reason why pictures might upload sideways or upside down.
How do I resolve this?
To fix the problem, you need to use a photo editor that allows you to modify the photo's exif data. If an image editor doesn't offer this, then rotating and saving will not work.
In the editor, just rotate the photo to the correct side (this may mean rotating it on all sides starting from the upright position back to the correct position) and hit <Save> or <Save As>. Make sure that saving exif data is selected.
If you are still unable to upload the photo in the correct orientation after following the steps above, please feel free to reach out to us at help@manyvids.com with an attached copy of the image and we'll be happy to look into it!
